🔗 Share this article BF6 Players Concur: Missions Are Way Too Hard The release of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 received widespread acclaim, notably for its flagship multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. Yet, despite its popularity, a growing number of players are expressing frustration over several of the title's most difficult challenges, which are mandatory to obtain particular firearms. Players have started turning to custom matches created through Battlefield Portal to achieve these objectives, underscoring just how grueling these assignments have become. Grasping BF6 Tasks Assignments are Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, in contrast to the frequently updated everyday and weekly missions. There are four types of assignments, but while the majority only reward outfits and select equipment, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of acquiring a dozen out of forty-one main guns available in the game. Several of these gated guns could shortly make their appearance on rosters of the best guns in Battlefield 6. Player Outcry via Reddit Over on Reddit, players are understandably sharing their frustrations about how hard and tedious some of these challenges are. One user emphasized one of the most egregious examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG: Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs "This challenge is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a statement that captures just how annoyingly hard these tasks are. The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it has significantly fewer benefits in combat as it used to in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target. At the same time, hipfiring an LMG is wildly inaccurate and only works at very short distances, which isn't typically where you aim to be. The same user also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and conversely. Another Overly Demanding Task A different forum member highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, within the marksman rifle class to obtain the PSR: Secure 150 precision takedowns beyond 200 meters with sniper rifles This is difficult enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at those extended distances. There is a decent selection of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, Mirak Valley, and maybe a classic map if you're lucky if you aim to take long-range shots from over 200m away. The Workaround However, there is a solution: the portal. This portal feature is a system that permits you to design tailored experiences on whatever map you choose, featuring computer-controlled players. This allows you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't really seem like the spirit of the game. Yet, if doing the challenges in a standard match feels like anti-playing, since you are forced to participate in such an unconventional way that offers no advantage to anyone, who can fault a player for finishing these in a private match so squad members are not disadvantaged? Potential Changes It is expected if several of these tasks are adjusted to be less difficult in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, a portion of the user base simply will never acquire the locked firearms. For now, the community continues to voice their opinions on these challenging in-game tasks, hoping for a fairer overall gameplay in subsequent patches.
